Oxford’s Witches Ride Returns with Increased Magic and Charity Efforts

Witches Ride Returns to Oxford with a Enchanting Flair

Oxford, get ready to don your pointy hats and dust off your broomsticks because the Witches Ride is back, and it promises to be even more magical this year! On October 21, at 6 p.m., the city’s downtown Square will transform into a whimsical wonderland as witches and their friends gather for an extraordinary evening designed to raise funds for The Pantry, Oxford’s beloved emergency food bank.

A Charmed Beginning

The Witches Ride began its enchanting journey only last year but has quickly become a local favorite, raising over $8,000 for a fantastic cause. This year, the planners are stepping up the fun and community spirit, giving everyone a chance to join in on the festivities. With the entry fee set at $50 for each rider and $200 to reserve a golf cart, participants will not only enjoy a delightful parade but also support an invaluable resource for those in need in our community.

Join the Fun and Give Back

But that’s not all! Organizers have partnered with Stronger Together Oxford to collect pantry donations from spectators who come out to enjoy the parade. Imagine the scene: as the witches glide past on their magic brooms (or rather, their bikes), they’ll be accompanied by a jazz funeral carriage courtesy of Gammel Enterprises LLC. As part of the grand finale, our witches will stroll through the crowd, eagerly collecting non-perishable food items and kitchen essentials. So, whether you’ve got a can opener, cooking oil, spices, or even seasonal goodies like soups and crackers, bring them along. In return for your generosity, our enchanting witches will bestow some sweet treats to enjoy!

A Message from the Heart

Marlee Carpenter, Executive Director of Stronger Together, expresses heartfelt gratitude towards the coordinators for this year’s magical event. She shared, “Thanks to the parade coordinators, this year’s ride lets everyone in on the fun of giving back. It’s an incredible opportunity for the whole community to participate and support the pantry, which relies on the kindness of volunteers and donations. It’s our way of reminding everyone that even small donations can cast a big spell of change.”
