OXFORD, Mississippi – A tragic single-vehicle accident took place on June 27, 2024, claiming the life of a 19-year-old passenger and leaving another critically injured. The incident occurred around 3:13 PM on County Road 445, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to emergency calls that reported a vehicle had crashed off the road. Upon arrival, they discovered the car significantly damaged and in a perilous state. There were two young men in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Authorities confirmed that one of the passengers, William C. Holman from Senatobia, was pronounced dead at the scene by officials from the Lafayette County Coroner’s Office. The impact of the crash proved fatal for Holman, leaving a profound sense of loss in the community.

The second passenger had to be rescued from the wreckage by the Lafayette Fire Department. Emergency responders worked swiftly, and he was transported to a nearby hospital in Northern Mississippi via airlift due to the seriousness of his injuries.
