Renowned music artists are set to grace Oxford’s Nutt Auditorium this coming March, hosted by the University of Mississippi’s Department of Music. The highly-anticipated event will feature a series of lectures, masterclasses, and performances by the acclaimed McCallister/Ames Duo and Dr. Ryan Fogg.
The McCallister/Ames Duo, comprised of Grammy-winning saxophonist Timothy McAllister and talented collaborative pianist Liz Ames, will headline the series of events beginning on March 3, 2024. The duo offers a mesmerizing blend of impressive saxophone and piano performances. McAllister, along with being a two-time Grammy Award winner, is also a full-time professor of Saxophone at The University of Michigan School of Music, proving his commitment to cultivating talent in the field of music.
Known for her enthusiasm for collaboration, Ames is currently a lecturer of Collaborative Piano at the University of Michigan, where she tirelessly promotes the celebration of comporting musicians across genres. Together, McAllister and Ames promise an unforgettable performance at the Nutt Auditorium on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 7:30 PM.
Prior to their recital, Ames will host a lecture and masterclass on solo and collaborative piano performance at 1 pm in Nutt Auditorium. On Sunday, March 3rd, McAllister will host his masterclass focused on saxophone performance. These sessions provide an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain insightful knowledge from the Artists’ years of invaluable experience in their respective fields.
Another highlight of this series of events is the solo recital by Dr. Ryan Fogg, who is due to perform at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall. A seasoned chamber musician, Fogg’s solo recital tour includes a stop at Nutt Auditorium on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 7:30 PM.
Currently serving as the Professor of Music and Director of Keyboard Studies at Carson-Newman University, Fogg has earned multiple honors for his inspiring work in the field, including the prestigious Teaching Excellence and Leadership Award and twice being honored with the Faculty Creativity Award. His recital at Nutt Auditorium will feature piano compositions by famous composers Debussy and Ravel.
