Oxford Parks Commission is in charge of parks and recreation services in Oxford, Mississippi.
There is no shortage of recreational activities and venues available to residents and visitors in Oxford and Lafayette County, from tennis courts, golf courses, and swimming pools to hiking, hunting, and fishing. The neighborhood has a number of state-of-the-art playgrounds that offer a variety of fun activities for kids of all ages.
Avent ParkÂ
It has four lighted tennis courts, a picnic pavilion, a walking trail, a baseball field, two playground areas for kids of all ages, and several quiet areas, all of which are located on Park Drive.Â
Bailey Branch Park at FNC
This new park has a playground, pavilion, wildflower garden, and walking path. The intersection of Highway 7 South and Office Park Drive is where you’ll find it.
mTrade Park
Oxford’s newest facility spans 75 acres and includes five regulation soccer fields and 14 baseball/fastpitch grounds ranging in length from 200 to 300 feet. Twelve of the fourteen fields feature synthetic turf and are completely lit. Around the exterior is the Wayne & Shirley Perkins Family walking track. The track is a little over a mile long.
Oxford City Pool
Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the pool is open for the season. Until Labor Day, weekend hours will be the same as weekdays. Passes for individuals, families, and days are available for purchase (No passes will be sold during the 2021 summer). A single membership is $75, while a family membership costs $150. The locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms were recently remodeled. Contact the Oxford Park Commission’s main office, located in the Coach Howell Center, at 662-232-2380 for information about facility rentals.
Oxford Skate Park
The skate park, which opened in 2006, is located across from the Oxford-Lafayette Public Library on Bramlett Boulevard. A pavilion and a playground are also available at the park.Â
Price Hill Park
A baseball/softball field, park pavilion, playground, spray pool, and outdoor basketball court are all located on Price Hill Road.Â
Rivers Hill ParkÂ
The Rivers Hill Community is served by the park, which is located on Pegues Road. There is a playground, an open-air pavilion, and two outdoor basketball courts in the park.Â
Stone ParkÂ
Stone Park at 432 Washington Ave., across from the public pool, has a playground, open-air pavilion, batting cage, and two outdoor basketball courts.
Garden Terrace Park
Garden Terrace is located on the city’s west side, right off Thacker Road, which links to Highway 6. It features a half-mile asphalt walking route with a 10-foot width. There are presently 32 parking places available. The Oxford Park Commission planted fruit trees in the park to commemorate the 2016 Mayor’s Day of Service.
