Oxford School District Prioritizes Student Nutrition with Year-Round Healthy School Meal Programs
Nutritious Meals for Oxford Schools
The Oxford School District’s Child Nutrition Services Department, known as Good Food for Oxford Schools, has announced its renewed commitment to student health and learning by participating in three federally subsidized meal programs throughout the 2024-2025 school year. These programs include the USDA School Breakfast Program, the USDA National School Lunch Program, and the USDA After School Care Program.
Good Food for Oxford Schools is deeply committed to the well-being of students and understands the crucial role nutrition plays in their ability to learn. To ensure all students have access to healthy nutrition, the Department has implemented meal programs designed to offer nutritious, low-cost, or free meals throughout the school day.
Breakfast, Lunch, and After School Snacks
The School Breakfast Program provides reimbursement to operate nonprofit breakfast programs in schools, enabling all Oxford students to receive breakfast free of charge. The National School Lunch Program offers nutritionally balanced, low-cost, or free lunches to children each school day. Additionally, the After School Care Program offers snacks to students participating in the Charger After School program.
To be eligible for free or reduced-cost lunches, parents or guardians must fill out an application to determine income eligibility. To ensure accessibility for all students, the school meal prices for the 2024-2025 school year are as follows:
- Student Breakfast: Free for all students
- Paid Student Lunch: $3.75
- Reduced Student Lunch: $0.40
- After School Snack: Free for students participating in the Charger After School program
Adult meal prices are also available, with breakfast at $2.25, and lunch at $4.50.
