Special Projects Director Mark Levy recently shared this exciting news during a meeting with the Oxford Board of Aldermen.
New Beginnings at a New Location
The new OPD headquarters is an impressive 40,000 square feet facility that promises to enhance the department’s efficiency and service to the community. Levy highlighted that, with their transition into this state-of-the-art building, they will be leaving their current premises empty. During the meeting, he requested permission to seek bids for the renovation and remodeling of the existing OPD building.
Once the police department relocates, the current building will undergo some exciting renovations to transform it into office space for the Oxford Park Commission and various other city offices. Levy expressed eagerness to kick off the renovation project as early as January 2025. The decision to develop this new police headquarters dates back to 2021 when the Oxford Board of Aldermen approved a plan to convert the former Oxford Enterprise Center into the new OPD headquarters.
