Major Paving Projects Continue on West Jackson, Bramlett Blvd. Is Next in Line

Paving along West Jackson Continues; Bramlett Blvd. Is Up Next

Oxford, a city that’s always bustling with activity, could witness a pause on one of its major thoroughfares, West Jackson Avenue, this week. The city has embarked on a massive paving project spearheaded by Lehman-Roberts, the task of which started last Thursday.

West Jackson Avenue Gets a New Look

The team from Lehman-Roberts is focusing on paving the westbound lane of West Jackson Avenue. They are operating between Fraternity Row and West Oxford Loop and extending their task along Home Depot Drive as well.

There might be certain blockades on the roads for safety reasons and due to the availability of work spaces. Motorists are encouraged to plan their traveling routes ahead to avoid possible delays, keeping in mind the lane closures and lane shifts expected during work hours.

Prediction of Weather Constraints

While the dedicated crews are working tirelessly to give the city smoother and safer roads, the completion of the project could depend on one unforeseen factor: weather. A possibility of bad weather over the next couple of days may cause some delays in the paving work. However, there are hopes that they could complete their task by the end of this week, weather permitting.

Other Roads on the List

As a part of the city’s initiative to upgrade their infrastructure, the paving project also encompasses other avenues. City Engineer John Crowley mentioned that after wrapping up West Jackson and Home Depot Drive, the crew will shift their equipment across town to start work on Bramlett Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue.

A Word to Oxford Residents

These massive improvement works might test the patience of Oxford’s residents a little due to resultant traffic disruptions. However, such initiatives are crucial for infrastructure development and maintaining road safety. When complete, these upgraded roads will ensure smoother and safer drives for Oxford’s residents.

The city suggests locals and regular commuters to use alternate routes during the course of the paving works. This would not only help in reducing congestion around work areas, but also assist in the quicker completion of the job at hand.

Keep a Tab on More Updates

Stay tuned for more updates around the paving works in Oxford. The city is committed to delivering better roads for its residents, with its efforts reflecting in these challenging yet rewarding tasks taken up by them.
