Young professionals receiving awards
OXFORD – The Top 20 Under 40 Awards are returning for a fourth year, once again seeking to celebrate the most promising young professionals in Oxford. The awards, a collaborative effort between The Oxford Magazine, The Oxford Eagle, and the Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals, strive to highlight exceptional young leaders making significant contributions to the LOU community.
“We are pleased to honor outstanding young professionals who are making such a difference,” said Rebecca Alexander, publisher of The Oxford Magazine and The Oxford Eagle. “Each year this event gets bigger, and we are pleased to be able to shine a spotlight on some of the many talented, innovative young professionals in our community,” she added.
The process of nominations and voting for the awards is now open and will run through July 31. The interested parties are encouraged to submit their nominations online. Following the open voting, the top 20 nominees will be announced and later honored with a plaque at the Top 20 Under 40 celebration event, scheduled for September 24 at Paragon Bank. Additionally, these young achievers will be featured in the September/October edition of Oxford Magazine.
These annual awards nurture recognition within Oxford’s community, casting a spotlight on achievers from various sectors. “We have young leaders throughout all aspects of our community: business, education, non-profits, government service who deserve recognition,” Alexander said. In addition to this, the Chamber’s Young Professionals Organization provides networking and development opportunities, and through this annual event, they commit to encouraging and showcasing the abilities of young professionals in the community.
The entire community is invited to participate in the nomination and voting process. It’s their opportunity to support and appreciate young leaders making a difference in their respective fields. This event serves as a platform to acknowledge hard work, innovation, and the positive impact these under 40 professionals have on their community.
The Top 20 Under 40 celebration event, hosted at Paragon Bank, will be a well-deserved celebration of the nominees’ hard work, innovation, and contributions to their communities. Each of the top 20 nominees will receive a plaque, and all attendees will have the chance to learn more about these impressive young leaders during the event. The initiative strives to inspire others in the community by showcasing what can be achieved with hard work, passion, and dedication.
In an environment where success is often measured in years of experience, this initiative gives due recognition to young leaders who have achieved exemplary feats before the age of 40. The aim is to inspire others in their age group and build an atmosphere of recognition and encouragement in the community.
