Ole Miss Rebels Shine Bright on All-SEC Teams!

Oxford, Mississippi, has been buzzing with excitement as the Ole Miss Rebels celebrate a season filled with standout performances, even if they did fall just short of making it to the College Football Playoff. On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) office revealed its prestigious 2024 All-SEC teams, and the Rebels made quite a splash! With a whopping nine players making the cut, Ole Miss showcased its talent throughout the season, earning the second most selections among all member schools, just behind Georgia’s 13.

A Closer Look at the All-SEC Honorees

Leading the charge for the Rebels are four amazing players named to the First Team All-SEC: quarterback Jaxson Dart, defensive linemen Walter Nolen and Princely Umanmielen, along with defensive back Trey Amos.

Let’s kick things off with Jaxson Dart. What a season for this young quarterback! Dart shattered his own career records, tossing the ball for a stunning 3,875 passing yards with a completion percentage of 68.6%. He also racked up 25 touchdowns—only throwing a mere six interceptions along the way. His impressive passer rating of 177.7 is currently the second-best in the nation, just shy of Indiana’s Kurti Rouke. Talk about a season to remember!

Now, shifting gears to the defense, Walter Nolen, who arrived at Ole Miss from Texas A&M, made a serious impact this year. He finished with 48 total tackles, including 14 tackles for loss and an impressive 6.5 sacks. His partner in crime, Princely Umanmielen, also made waves on defense after joining from the Florida Gators with a fantastic record of 13 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. The Rebels’ defense was undoubtedly tough, and we can’t overlook Trey Amos either, who came over from Alabama. Amos stole the spotlight with three crucial interceptions, not to mention 47 total tackles!

Moving on from the First Team, the Rebels also had some shining stars on the Second and Third Teams. Chris “Pooh” Paul earned himself a spot on the Second Team as a linebacker—a true testament to his hard-hitting abilities and tenacity on the field.

On the Third Team, Ole Miss featured wide receiver Tre Harris, alongside defensive linemen Jared Ivey, Suntarine Perkins, and JJ Pegues. These selections only add to the sense of pride for Rebels fans, knowing that their team is filled with talent!

The Rebels wrapped up the regular season with an impressive total of nine wins and are gearing up to add another W in their upcoming matchup against the Duke Blue Devils at the Gator Bowl on January 2nd. Fans can mark their calendars for a thrilling game, as kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
