Taking on the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, the Rebels soared to a fantastic 100-68 victory at the SJB Pavilion on Thursday night, marking their fifth straight win of the season.
The game kicked off with a bang as the Rebels dashed ahead on a remarkable 14-0 run. In no time, they found themselves with a comfortable 10-point lead halfway through the first half. And it didn’t stop there! They maintained that lead going into halftime with a solid score of 50-40.
Leading the charge in that first half was Sean Pedulla, who was unstoppable with an impressive 15 points. He wasn’t alone though; teammates Mikeal Brown-Jones and Matthew Murrell also helped fire up the scoreboard. This strong start set the Rebels up for a solid performance moving into the second half.
When the second half commenced, it was clear the Rebels weren’t taking their foot off the gas. They ignited the court once again, rapidly extending their lead to more than 20 points. From there, it was smooth sailing as they dominated the rest of the game, never allowing the Golden Eagles a chance to bounce back. Their offense was on fire, and they ended up flying past the century mark, finishing with 100 points—just a hair short of tying the Pavilion record of 103.
Leading the scoring parade was none other than Murrell, who netted a season-high 19 points, matching Pedulla’s tally. The Rebels showcased their depth with a total of five players scoring in double figures, an impressive feat demonstrating just how well they worked as a cohesive unit.
And let’s not forget about the Rebels’ defense! They were relentless throughout the game, forcing 21 turnovers and converting those opportunities into an impressive 37 points off turnovers. It was a well-rounded performance, one that highlighted both their offensive prowess and defensive tenacity.
Following this fantastic victory, the Rebels are riding high with an 18-game winning streak against non-conference opponents. And they’ll need that momentum as they prepare to face BYU next Thursday on Thanksgiving at the Rady Children’s Invitational in sunny San Diego.
This level of performance not only has fans buzzing but also illustrates the growing confidence and skill of this talented Rebels squad. As the season progresses, one thing is clear: the Ole Miss Rebels will be a force to be reckoned with. Whether they can keep up this momentum remains to be seen, but with this kind of play, they’re sure to find success.
