Exciting Junior Day at Ole Miss Welcomes Top Prospects for 2025

Oxford, Mississippi is buzzing with energy as the University of Mississippi opens its doors for the first junior day of 2025 this coming Saturday. It’s an exciting time for both the university and promising young athletes as they gather to explore opportunities with the Ole Miss Rebels.

A Day Filled with Potential

More than just a few future stars will be making their way to Oxford. Prospects from the 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes are set to attend, all eager to engage with the Rebels’ coaching staff and get a taste of the college experience. The excitement kicks off early, as check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. CT inside the Manning Center. Throughout the day, participants will take part in various activities designed to give them a closer look at what being a part of the Rebel family is all about.

Anticipation Builds for the Evening Showdown

The day will culminate with a thrilling basketball game inside the Pavilion, where the Ole Miss men’s basketball team will take on the highly-ranked Auburn Tigers. This is not only a chance for prospects to bond with each other and the coaching staff, but it’s also a fun way to enjoy some serious college sports action.

Spotlight on Star Prospects

Among the most notable future stars in attendance is four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth from Jackson High School in Alabama. Standing at an impressive 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 190 pounds, Duckworth is making waves in the football community. He is currently recognized as the No. 5 quarterback in the nation for the 2026 class and holds high rankings in Alabama’s football circles.

Duckworth’s stats speak volumes about his potential. He’s rated as the No. 4 player in Alabama’s 2026 class and is positioned as No. 66 in the Top247. In the 247Sports Composite index, he’s the No. 9 quarterback in the country, and ranks No. 10 in Alabama overall, showcasing his exceptional talent and promise on the field.

Following in His Father’s Footsteps

Another exciting prospect is four-star defensive lineman Deuce Geralds, who brings a legacy connection to the program. Geralds’ father, Daverin Geralds, proudly donned the Rebel colors during his playing days. Deuce stands at 6 feet 2.5 inches and weighs 265 pounds, making him a force to be reckoned with. He is recognized as the No. 5 defensive lineman in the 2026 class and ranks No. 69 nationally in the Composite rankings.

The Ole Miss coaching team, including head coach Lane Kiffin and defensive coordinator Pete Golding, have shown great interest in Geralds, visiting him and his father recently at Collins Hill High School in Georgia.

Another Name to Watch: Dorian Barney

Joining the ranks of future stars is Dorian “DB” Barney, a four-star cornerback hailing from Carrollton, Georgia. Barney is a well-rounded player at 6 feet and 175 pounds, ranked as the No. 7 cornerback in the nation. He also makes the list as the No. 76 player overall. Last season, Barney showcased his defensive prowess with 39 total tackles, five interceptions, and a defensive touchdown.

Barney has expressed excitement about Ole Miss, feeling that the coaching staff considers him a top priority. Competing with renowned universities like Georgia, Texas A&M, and Notre Dame, Barney recently visited Oxford with his family and found the experience enlightening, helping him gain insights into the program.

The Future Looks Bright

As Ole Miss hosts this careful selection of prospects, it’s clear that the future of Rebel football looks promising. With a blend of talent, legacy, and strong interest from budding athletes, Saturday’s junior day is set to be an unforgettable experience for all involved, establishing lasting connections and strengthening the Ole Miss football program.
