All city, county, and local federal offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. This shutdown includes Banks and Post Offices which will also remain closed on Monday.
While the garbage pickup in Oxford and Lafayette County will proceed as usual on Monday, rubbish will not be collected. Rubbish, in this context, refers to yard debris and large items that usually are not included in standard trash collection. Regular rubbish collection will continue from Tuesday.
As a Memorial Day special, parking around the Square has been declared free for Monday. However, the Oxford University Transit (OUT) buses won’t be running on the holiday. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday.
The Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library joins the list of closures for the Memorial Day weekend. It will remain shut on both Sunday and the holiday Monday.
