Lamar Park

Lamar Park in Oxford, Mississippi, has remained relatively unknown, which makes it ideal for your next outing. Lamar Park, just west of Oxford, Mississippi, features a beautiful lake with an equally beautiful pier that takes you out into the center of it.

Lamar Park is unique in that it is intended to function as an outdoor arboretum. The park, which was created in collaboration with the City of Oxford, is designed to bring people closer to nature by prohibiting parties, barbecues, loudspeakers, and athletic activities. Dogs are permitted! Although dogs must be kept on a leash, you are welcome to walk your best buddy around the lake and enjoy the scenery.

Lamar Park is also where the Yokna Sculpture Trail ends! This route begins on University Avenue and 14th Street before making its way to the park, where you’ll see a variety of interesting sculptures.

If you wish to have a snack or read in the park, there is also a gazebo. Lamar Park’s vegetation is unique, and it gives the ideal calm retreat into nature. Finally, when you need a good peaceful walk to contemplate and appreciate nature, Lamar Park is a tranquil refuge.
