Oxford is buzzing with excitement as the Oxford Lafayette Chamber of Commerce has officially rolled out the names of the participants in the highly anticipated 2025 Leadership Lafayette program! Sponsored by the University of Mississippi, this year’s cohort is ready to embark on an eight-month journey that promises to enrich their leadership skills and deepen their community engagement.
The Leadership Lafayette program kicked off in January and aims to offer budding leaders in the Lafayette-Oxford-University (LOU) community a rich tapestry of hands-on training, community engagement, and networking opportunities. This initiative is all about fostering ongoing leadership growth within the area, making it a vital component in uplifting local leadership.
Participants can expect to learn innovative problem-solving skills and collaborate with local organizations to drive meaningful impacts. It’s about ensuring that future leaders are well-equipped to tackle local challenges while enjoying the camaraderie and support of like-minded peers.
Sha’ Simpson, who serves as the Director of Public Information at North Mississippi Regional Center, is co-chairing the program alongside Wayne Andrews, the Director of the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council. Both individuals bring their own unique perspectives and enthusiasm to the initiative, aiming to nurture a diverse class of leaders who can make a lasting impact in the community.

The Oxford-Lafayette Chamber of Commerce continues to be a crucial player in shaping the local business environment, boasting over 800 members who are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the region.
