In a recent announcement, the Oxford School District affirmed the appointment of Johnnie Dudley as the new Director of Teaching and Learning. Previous to this appointment, she served as the principal of Oxford Intermediate School, earning recognition as the Oxford School District Administrator of the Year in 2024.
Prior to her role at Oxford Intermediate School, Dudley has held a distinguished career in education. She has worked as an assistant principal at Oxford High School and a special education teacher. Moreover, she had assumed a principal’s role and got appointed as the Director of Special Education in the Coffeeville School District. Her rich background uniquely positions her to lead the district’s teaching and learning efforts.
As the Director of Teaching and Learning, Dudley will primarily be responsible for shaping the educational strategy and overseeing implementation efforts in the district. In her first address in her new capacity, she emphasized her commitment to empowering educators and supporting student success.
“In this new capacity, my goal is to ensure that our educators feel empowered and supported,” she said. “I look forward to joining the team in leading our efforts to inspire and equip students and staff with the skills necessary to excel in teaching and learning.”
The Oxford School District Chief Academic Officer, Marni Herrington, expressed her support for Dudley’s appointment. Herrington praised Dudley for her dedication to educational excellence, commenting that her experience and values align perfectly with the district’s vision.
