This week, we reflect on the lives of three remarkable individuals from our community: Marie ‘Jeanne’ Stelmach, Joyce A. Sirard, and Kevin L. Livelsberger. Each of them leaves behind a legacy of love and service, impacting families and friends in unique ways. As we cherish their memories, we come together to honor the joy and inspiration they brought to our lives. Their stories are a reminder of the importance of connection, service, and community spirit.
In our tight-knit community, it’s always a moment of reflection and remembrance as we say goodbye to cherished friends and family members. From joyful lives lived to connections that will never fade, this week we take a moment to honor the lives of three remarkable individuals: Marie “Jeanne” Stelmach, Joyce A. Sirard, and Kevin L. Livelsberger.
Marie “Jeanne” (Fournier) Stelmach, aged 95, passed away on January 5, 2025, at the Quaboag Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield. Although she faced a brief illness, Jeanne’s incredible spirit shone through her many years of loving service and dedication. Born in Millbury, she was the beloved daughter of Lucien and Imelda Fournier.
Jeanne’s family was her pride and joy. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy, with seven children: Nancy, Michael, Sylvester, Kelley, Barbara, David, and John. Jeanne’s love extended to her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the wonderful memories they created together. Her life was filled with love, laughter, and family gatherings.
Professionally, Jeanne was a long-time employee of the American Optical Company, where she dedicated 30 years of her life. Retirement allowed her to delve into community service, especially her fond involvement with the Notre Dame Festival of Giving Trees. Jeanne’s passions included enjoying country music, particularly her favorite, George Strait, and indulging in card games, bingo, and word puzzles that kept her mind sharp and her heart light.
Jeanne’s funeral Mass is set for January 25, 2025, at Notre Dame Church in Southbridge, with her burial to follow at a later date. Her indomitable spirit will surely live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Joyce A. Sirard, a beloved figure on Pond Street, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at Webster Manor Nursing Home. Following the loss of her husband, Richard P. Sirard, in 2010, she continued to be an inspiring presence in the community. As a lifelong resident of Oxford, Joyce embraced her roots, always striving to give back.
Joyce was the proud mother of six children: Jean, Peter, Paul, Joseph, Stephen, and Thomas. Born to Charles E. and Evelyn Farrar, she was a graduate of Oxford High School and Framingham State University, where she honed her skills in home economics. Joyce devoted her career to teaching, impacting countless young lives during her time in the classroom.
Her community spirit didn’t stop there. Joyce was a tireless volunteer, contributing to both St. Roch’s and St. Joseph’s Churches and supporting the Oxford Public Library and the Oxford Bandstand Project. Her dedication to education and community engagement truly made Oxford a richer place for everyone.
Joyce’s funeral will take place on January 7, 2025, at St. Roch’s Church, followed by burial at St. Roch’s Cemetery. Her commitment to her family and community will be dearly missed.
Tragically, Kevin L. Livelsberger passed away at just 41 years old on December 29, 2024, at his home. Born on October 18, 1983, Kevin was a hardworking individual who found joy in the simple things, from quality family time to fun activities such as fishing, motorcycle riding, and cozy campfires.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Stacy, and their children, Savanna and Kolby. He was not only a devoted husband and father, but also a supportive brother to Stephen and Erin. Those who knew Kevin remember his zest for life and warmth that radiated to all around him.
In honor of his memory, funeral services for Kevin will be kept private. However, loved ones have decided to direct memorial contributions to the Adams County SPCA, resonating with Kevin’s love for animals and desire to make a positive impact in the community.
As we remember these incredible individuals – Jeanne, Joyce, and Kevin – let us carry their legacy of love, service, and adventure into our daily lives. They may no longer walk among us, but their spirits continue to inspire and guide us. Until we meet again, may they rest in peace.
