Meanwhile, Germantown and Clinton put on a show as well, with Germantown outlasting their rivals at 53-35.

There was no shortage of fireworks in other games, as Columbus outscored Vicksburg 41-27, and McComb blanked Raymond at 42-0. The showdown between Southaven and Hernando turned into a battle of resilience, with Southaven securing a 37-13 win.

Not to be forgotten, Winona brought home a convincing win against Ruleville with a score of 56-28. Meanwhile, Water Valley entertained fans with a back-and-forth game that ended with them on top of Bruce at 63-42. And let’s give a shoutout to Oak Grove, who kept things steady against Pearl, winning 41-13.

MAIS Playoff Highlights

In addition to the regular high school games, the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) kicked off their playoff rounds. Hartfield Academy claimed a hard-fought victory over Jackson Academy 28-17, while Jackson Prep rolled past Madison St. Joseph with a score of 56-13.
