About the Book

Iles’ latest novel, Southern Man, commences fifteen years post the incidents of the acclaimed Natchez Burning trilogy. The protagonist, Penn Cage, finds himself alone as he grapples with loss, mortality, and the haunting secrets from his past.

The story unravels after a brawl at a Mississippi rap festival triggers a blood-spattered mass shooting, pulling Penn out of his self-imposed exile.
