May Garden Lecture to Focus on Flowers, Cutting Gardens

Oxford Set to Bloom with Master Gardeners Spring Lecture Series

The renowned Master Gardeners Spring Lecture Series is wrapping up its season with a special event that promises to bring a floral flourish to Oxford. The last in the series will concentrate on the art of cultivating flowers and setting up a cutting garden.

Set to take place at noon on May 2nd in the Lafayette County and Oxford Public Library auditorium, the concluding lecture of the spring series welcomes the public to come soak up expert advice and exclusive insights. Offered entirely free of charge, the event is set to celebrate the joy of gardening and the beauty of blooms in the heartland of Mississippi.

Katherine Webb of Farmstead Floral to Share Floral Expertise

Headlining the event is none other than Katherine Webb, proprietor of the much-adored Farmstead Floral. Known throughout Oxford for her successful cut-flower farm, Webb is set to share her industry knowledge and passion for floriculture with attendees.

Notable for her self-serve flower stands at the Oxford Square and Ole Miss campus, as well as her popular booths at local farmers’ markets, Webb’s Farmstead Floral has been a beacon for flower lovers since 2016. It initially began on a modest three-fourth acre plot, later expanding over successive seasons to encompass seven acres of floral splendour.

Webb’s impressive enterprise also serves a vast clientele, supplying florists and groceries with fresh, top-quality flowers in north Mississippi, Memphis, and Birmingham. Additionally, the floral cognoscente has ventured into floral design, adding another petal to her already full bloom.

Despite her booming business, Webb firmly believes in nurturing the local community. She takes immense pride in the quality of her product offerings and values the human connections that her flower farm promotes. For her, raising flowers is more than just a profession—it’s a way of life she hopes to continue for many years.

The Joy of Flowers and Gardening

Gardening enthusiasts and flower aficionados alike are invited to attend the final Spring Lecture Series event. It promises to be an enriching occasion where like-minded individuals can come together to learn, share experiences, and nurture their love for flowers and gardening.
