Oxford Embraces Autumn with a Plethora of Exciting Events and Festivities

Fall Fun is Here in Oxford!

Hey there, Oxford! As we wave goodbye to the sweltering summer heat, the crisp allure of fall is knocking at our doors. The weather is about to cool down, which means it’s the perfect time to dive into all the exciting events happening in our beautiful town. And guess what? The festivities start this weekend!

Kickoff with a Spooky Workshop

This Saturday, October 13, put on your thinking caps and join the Halloween Ghost Workshop hosted by Art to Go at the Powerhouse, kicking off at 10 a.m. What a fantastic way to get into the Halloween spirit! Don’t forget to register online if you want to join in on the fun.

Trunk or Treat & Haunted Houses

As we look towards the week ahead, mark your calendars for Thursday, October 17. From 5 to 7 p.m., the Oxford Conference Center will transform into a wonderland of treats with its annual Trunk or Treat event. Grab your little ghouls and goblins; this is an exciting and safe way for kids to enjoy Halloween!

The spooky activities continue the next night and into the weekend! On Friday, October 18, the Oxford Police Department Haunted House will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. at their future home located at 10 Industrial Park Road. It’s a frightfully good time for only $5—cash only, please! Plus, all proceeds go to support Interfaith Compassion Ministries, so you’ll be enjoying the chills for a good cause.

Fall Festivals Galore!

And that’s not all! Friday also brings us the Fall Fest at the Regents School of Oxford from 3 to 6 p.m. If you’re looking for more excitement later, head over to Guyton Hall on the University of Mississippi campus for another Fall Festival from 5 to 8 p.m..

Let’s not forget about Saturday, October 19. Chicory Market has a special treat in store with their own Fall Festival, featuring cookie decorating, a delicious shrimp boil, music, and face painting from 3 to 5 p.m. This is an event not to be missed!

More Spooktacular Events Ahead!

As we move into the following week, the festivities continue with the second Witches Ride around the Square, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 21. Adults are invited to ride, while kids of all ages can watch and try to snatch up some candy flying through the air!

Then on Tuesday, October 22, gather at the Oxford Activity Center from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for another Fall Festival. It’s all happening, and there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to engage in some autumn fun!

Keep the Halloween Spirit Alive!

The week leading up to Halloween is stuffed with more exciting activities for everyone. The complete lineup features a variety of trunk or treat events, fall carnivals, and festivals at local schools and community centers. Here’s a quick glance at what’s in store:

  • October 24-26: Fall Carnival at Lafayette County Multipurpose Arena
