Exciting Week 10 of Mississippi High School Football!

This past Friday night was pure excitement for Mississippi high school football fans as teams took the field for Week 10 of the MHSAA season. With thrilling games up and down the state, it was a night full of surprises and standout performances!

Close Calls and High Scores

In Belmont, the game against Mantachie was a nail-biter that ended with a close score of 18-14, giving Belmont a reason to cheer. Meanwhile, Biloxi faced off against Harrison Central and managed to secure a 30-23 victory in an entertaining match.

Over in Bogue Chitto, the team showed no mercy, defeating Wilkinson County with a hefty score of 23-8. And if you’re a fan of high-scoring games, you wouldn’t want to miss the showdown between Brandon and Meridian, where Brandon cruised to a fantastic 42-14 win.

Defensive Battles

Some matches featured incredible defensive plays that left fans at the edge of their seats. Calhoun Academy delivered a dominating performance against Franklin Academy, shutting them out completely with a score of 56-0. Similarly, Canton and Gentry felt the sting of heavy defeat, falling to Horn Lake and Itawamba Agricultural, respectively, by scores of 48-6 and 53-19.

Big Wins and Performances

In other notable games, Columbia Academy showcased their prowess with a 43-8 victory over Clinton Christian, and fans were thrilled by Copiah Academy as they dominated Starkville Academy with a score of 36-7. Not to be outdone, Cleveland Central achieved a solid win against Holmes County Central with a score of 35-19.

Jackson Prep shone bright as they blew out St Joseph Catholic with a score of 56-12, while South Panola secured an impressive 42-14 win against Olive Branch. The excitement didn’t stop there; Water Valley took down Bruce in a high-scoring match, completing the game with a score of 63-42.

Underdogs and Upsets

This week also brought about some unexpected outcomes. Taylorsville showcased dominance against Leake County with a staggering 54-0 victory, while North Delta triumphed over Carroll Academy with a shutout of 35-0.

The intensity of the games surely ramped up the atmosphere across the state, allowing fans to cheer on their teams passionately and bond with friends and family alike. The cheerful chants, the joyous celebrations, and the sighs of relief after close finishes are what make high school football so special in Mississippi!
