The Oxford residence of iconic football star Eli Manning is slated for an estate sale, offering fans and collectors the unique opportunity to acquire various items, some of which include personal possessions and artwork valued up to $100,000.
Before initiating his career with the New York Giants, Manning familiarized himself with the football field as an Ole Miss Rebel at the University of Mississippi. His distinguished career has rendered his name a landmark, with it being ubiquitous across the city, displayed on merchandise and streets alike, in honor of his contributions and that of his father, Archie Manning’s legacy as an Ole Miss Rebel.
The estate, one among many residences shared by Manning and wife Abby McGrew, has been sold. However, the personal items and furnishings coloring the interiors are up for the taking. It remains uncertain whether they will proceed to invest in another house in Oxford.
The estate sale, managed by the Memphis-based Robison-Finch Estate Sales, a renowned company for liquidations, is scheduled for June 1 to June 3 with slots of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. mentioned for each day.
Due to security reasons, the exact address of the sale will be disclosed after 9 p.m. on May 31, which will be listed on the estatesales.net listing. The event organizer, Ken Robison, anticipates a footfall of over 4,000 enthusiasts, showing the high level of interest in snagging a personal item from the Manning estate.
Eli Manning sports memorabilia is on the top of the list featured at the estate sale. According to the listing on estatesales.net, other items include artwork, furniture, clothing, kids playroom sets, patio furniture, and weight room equipment. Also, keep an eye out for a Yeti cooler, a Fender guitar, and a wide array of men’s and women’s clothing pieces.
The artworks are particularly notable, having been created by famed artists like Carroll Cloar, Ida Kohlmeyer, and Marie Hull. The depiction by Carroll Cloar, in particular, is estimated to be worth around $100,000, which is a draw in and of itself.
With the sale being a first-come, first-serve event, Robison advises interested parties to line up well before the commencement of the sale for a better chance at obtaining preferred items. Crowd control will be assisted by the Oxford Police Department to ensure a safer and more respectful environment around the neighborhood.
For those willing to bear it out overnight, provisions include portable washrooms alongside groups being admitted one at a time for an enhanced shopping experience. Imagine the delight when you share with your friends the story behind your Yeti cooler or Fender guitar procured from Eli Manning’s own personal collection during the next tailgate party.
With items hailing from a celebrated football player’s household and a range as diverse as sports memorabilia to sophisticated artwork, the estate sale promises a grand selection for every type of patron.
