April Restaurant Health Inspection Results Announced for Lafayette County by Mississippi Department of Health

April Restaurant Inspections Results for Lafayette County Released

Mississippi Department of Health Conducts Extensive Food Service Inspection

The Mississippi Department of Health carried out 70 food service inspections between April 1 and April 30 across the bustling Lafayette County. These inspections included a wide range of facilities where food is sold, from school cafeterias and restaurants to day care centers and bars. Restaurants and other food facilities are required to publicly display their health inspection grades to ensure transparency on health standards.

Of the 70 inspections conducted, the majority of facilities (56 out of the 70) received an “A” grade. A few facilities (three, to be precise) were awarded a “B” grade, and only two received a “C” grade. This grading system is established to allow a clear understanding of whether critical violations were discovered and corrected during the inspections.

Clear Grading System to Communicate Health Inspection Results

An “A” grade is assigned when the facility inspection finds no critical violations, whereas a “B” grade suggests that critical violations were found but corrected under the supervision of the inspecting environmentalist without further corrective actions required. A “C” grade, however, means that critical violations were found, but were not all corrected during the inspection. In these cases, the facility will be re-inspected, and all violations must be corrected within 10 days.

April’s Inspection Results

In the past month, several Lafayette County facilities earned A grades, these included, amongst others, popular names like Lafayette Middle School, Maharaja Indian Cuisine, Lorem Ipsum Candy Store, and Oxford Four Corner Chevron.

Huddle House, Oxford Bim Bam Burgers & Wings, and Uno Mas Tacos & Tequila were among the facilities that received B grades, signifying critical violations that were promptly rectified under the surveillance of the inspecting environmentalist.

In an unwelcome development, Oxford Bim Bam Burgers and Uno Mas Tacos & Tequila were assigned a C grade, indicating critical violations that were not entirely corrected at the time of the inspection. These facilities were re-inspected and subsequently awarded a B grade, demonstrating an improvement and commitment towards health standards in the respective facilities.

Improved Results Indicate Compliance and Commitment

The consistent results and the predominant presence of A grades are an indication of the commitment to health and safety protocols adopted by food facilities in Lafayette County. This gives customers increased assurance regarding the standard of hygiene maintained by local food establishments, where the health of the public is of paramount importance and maintaining a clean, sanitary environment is an essential goal.

With these results now public, residents and visitors alike can confidently choose to dine at numerous A-grade food establishments in Lafayette County. It also compels businesses that were marked down to strive for higher standards, leading to an all-around improvement in the quality of service.
